94 Years Later, Dick Tracy Returns For A Thrilling Holiday Special

Legendary noir icon Dick Tracy returns to bookshelves with a Veterans Day Special — a story that will reveal the gruff detective's own service in World War II. With Mad Cave Publishing, Veterans Day Special will be written by main Dick Tracy series writers Alex Segura and Michael Moreci, with some help from Chantelle Aimée Osman and novelist Keir Graff, who is making his comic debut. While certainly a harrowing period of life for the iconic investigator, it will be a great way to commemorate Veterans Day by focusing an entire special issue on exploring Dick Tracy's time in the service. Writers Segura and Moreci haven't shied away from Dick Tracy's post-World War II setting since launching this particular series in 2024, so it will be interesting to see them deliver what could ultimately be looked at as an origin story for this version of Dick Tracy.
