Henry Cavill’s Warhammer 40,000 plans are finally moving ahead, and Amazon MGM Studios is expanding the effort. The project has now moved into scriptwriting after the team finished early story outlines, a sign the studio wants real momentum, not just more fan hype. According to Variety, Amazon MGM Studios is also developing an animated Warhammer 40,000 event series with Blur Studios and Games Workshop. The new series is built as a spin-off from Secret Level and will focus on the Deathwatch, an elite group of veteran Space Marines who hunt alien threats. Dave Wilson, who directed the well-received Warhammer 40,000 Secret Level episode, “And They Shall Know No Fear,” is set to serve as co-creator and director, while John Orloff is writing the script and Cavill is executive producing. Cavill’s role across both the live-action and animated projects is meant to keep the franchise consistent and faithful to the source material.
