This is the second chapter in the second “Book” of the Annihilation event.
The new Quasar (Phyla Vell) and her lover Moondragon are contacted by a mysterious voice urging them to find the “savior” who will vanquish the Phalanx. Meanwhile, Phalanx have managed to infect Super Adaptoid–making him even more powerful.

Quasar’s character arc is that first she inherited the mantle of Captain Marvel, then of Quasar, both characters who saved the universe more than once. For much of the book she worries she’s not worthy of their titles, but in the end the ghost of Wendell Vaughn reassures her.
Along the way, Moondragon transforms into the Dragon of the Moon.
