This really should be called Agents of Atlas, because it’s another miniseries about that team, written again by Jeff Parker–whose work with this essentially unknown squad has been great. So good, in fact, that he was offered a regular series, took the offer, wrote this, and then cancelled the series after issue #5. In these issues, the team is joined by 3D Man (formerly the Avenger called Triathalon). When we last saw him he had killed Crusader… Crusader was in fact a skrull, but unlike most of the skrulls during Secret Invasion, he was actually a good guy. Since then, Delroy Garrett has slipped further down, and he’s now wanted for murder and haunted by dreams about the Agents of Atlas. Turns out, there’s some interdimensional beings after him and the story seems to be building towards some big revelations about the team, but then in issue #5 we get a new artist and rushed ending (with several pages of text used to tell us what’s happening). It’s not clear to me why the book was cancelled so abruptly. Here’s the final panel: After this, the team largely disappears for several years.
