A new entry in the Jurassic Park franchise is coming, but not to theaters. The game titled Jurassic Park: Survival is being developed by Saber Interactive and places players on Isla Nublar 24 hours after the 1993 film. The game uses a first-person perspective and centers on survival rather than direct combat.
Players control Dr. Maya Joshi, an InGen scientist who was left behind during the park’s evacuation. Payal Mistry voices the character in the game. The official synopsis says players will “experience the wonder and danger of dinosaurs, each with their own distinct and adaptive behaviors brought to life by John Hammond’s vision.”
The game reuses familiar locations from the original film, such as the Visitor Center and the T. rex enclosure, while adding new areas like a resort hotel and underground bunkers. It emphasizes stealth, resource management, and environmental awareness as core gameplay elements. Dinosaurs are designed to react to player actions in a dynamic ecosystem.
The project marks a shift away from recent film storytelling. It is described as grounded and suspense driven, contrasting with the more sensational style seen in recent releases. Analysts say the trend toward narrative-focused games could broaden the franchise’s audience and extend its relevance beyond theaters. The latest film in the series earned $869.1 million worldwide but faced critiques over its storytelling choices and the inclusion of mutant dinosaurs.
Jurassic Park: Survival will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, though a specific release date has not been announced.
