The following contains major spoilers for Captain America #15, on sale now from Marvel Comics.

Captain America's latest mission just brought him back to the site of one of Marvel's most heartwarming romances.

Captain America #15 finds the titular hero joining Thor and Spider-Man on a mission to Broxton, Oklahoma, or rather, to what is left of it. As it turns out, Thor believes there might be a way to bring Broxton back to life, even if not everyone who lived there will have a chance to be a part of it. When it comes to Bill Cobb and the Asgardian Kelda, their time on Earth was spent loving as tenderly as possible, all before being reunited in Valhalla after their deaths.

The small town of Broxton was first seen in the pages of 2007's Thor #1 by J. Michael Straczynski and Olivier Coipel. Once an ordinary location, Broxton became the neighbor of Asgard when Thor recreated his homeland on Earth. As such, Broxton's locals became close with the people of Asgard and their culture, so much so that they joined forces together when Galactus came calling, as well as during the fight against the original Asgardian Serpent. Tragically, Broxton was laid to waste by the God of Hammers, all in a bid to personally torment Thor.

William "Bill" Cobb III made his comic book debut just a single issue after Broxton itself. As a native of the town, Bill was immediately enthralled by the presence of his immortal new neighbors. Though Bill himself had no powers to speak of, he was a deeply caring figure, leading him to form some truly surprising relationships over the years. The most prominent of these relationships was with the Asgardian Kelda, who Bill almost immediately fell in love with.

One of the most explosive superheroes of the silver screen has finally explained exactly how her powers work in the pages of Marvel Comics.

Kelda was one of the many Asgardians directly responsible for resurrecting Thor after his death during the end of the Ragnarok Cycle. Upon meeting Bill, Kelda quickly reciprocated his romantic affections for her, kicking off one of the most unexpected romances in Marvel Comics history. Not long after Bill lost his life for stumbling upon a plot crafted by Doctor Doom and Loki, Kelda was preyed upon by the Trickster God for herself, albeit for far more altruistic reasons. In a devastating turn, Kelda was stripped of her memories and left in a constant state of emotional anguish, one which would only be eased by her own gruesome demise. After her death, Kelda was reunited with Bill in Valhalla, giving their love a chance to truly last an eternity.
