Clash of the Titans (1981) Gets a Stunning 4K Upgrade This November

Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey has crossed $1.5 billion at the worldwide box office, giving the director his biggest hit to date and proving that audiences will still turn out for ambitious original filmmaking. The film has earned about $563.8 million in North America and $988.8 million overseas, reaching roughly $1.553 billion worldwide. Nolan followed the massive success of Oppenheimer by adapting Homer’s ancient Greek epic. The decision raised questions because The Odyssey has already been adapted many times. Nolan’s version answered those doubts with a large-scale production that brought mythological figures, supernatural threats and legendary battles to modern theaters. The film’s approach also helped separate it from earlier versions. Nolan presented the story’s fantastic elements with a grounded tone. The result made creatures such as the Cyclops and the tale of Circe feel like real dangers inside the film’s world.
