Cruise Confirms ‘Days of Thunder 2’ With Anne Hathaway in Mystery Role

Tom Cruise is in his 60s, but retirement doesn’t appear to be part of his plan. After leading the blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick in 2022 and completing his run as Ethan Hunt in the final two Mission: Impossible movies, Cruise is preparing for another major franchise return. Cruise will appear in theaters this October as oil tycoon Digger Rockwell in Digger. After that, he’ll return as NASCAR driver Cole Trickle in Days of Thunder 2, a sequel to the 1990 racing drama. Cruise confirmed the project on social media by sharing the first official poster. The film will race into theaters on June 2, 2028.
