Dark Horse to Collect EC’s Only Super-Hero Comic in ‘The EC Archives: The Complete Moon Girl’

This was perhaps unexpected. While we all know and love EC’s classic comics in the horror, crime, science fiction and war genres the next Dark Horse project collecting their comics is something a little different. The EC Archives: The Complete Moon Girl brings the only EC super-hero series to the Archives range. A title I never anticipated we would see collected! Full details below.

Dark Horse Books presents The EC Archives: The Complete Moon Girl, written by Gardner Fox and Dorothy Roubicek and illustrated by Sheldon Moldoff and Johnny Craig. This hardcover volume collects Moon Girl #1-8, all Moon Girl stories published in other EC titles, and EC Comics’ first horror story “Zombie Terror” featured in issue #5, scanned from the original comics and digitally restored in this new edition. It also includes a foreword by Grant Geissman, designer and content curator of The Complete Moon Girl.

The Complete Moon Girl collects the amazing adventures of Claire Lune and Lionel Manning—Moon Girl and the Prince—who together fend off invaders from other planets as well as fight crime, and who “dedicate themselves to the task of creating a better world.”

Grant Geissman (a four-time-Eisner Award nominee) said, “The Complete MOON GIRL is a project that I have long wanted to do, and I’m so pleased that it is finally a reality. MOON GIRL was EC Comics’ only super-hero title, and trying to find the original issues today is both difficult and pricey. Using the actual late 1940s comic books as source material, every effort has been made to retain the look and feel of the rare originals, but presented in an attractive and affordable package. And apart from all the stories, this volume also presents examples of Moon Girl original art, as well as vintage production materials.
