Delusion: Production Begins on Korean Webtoon Live Action Series Adaptation

1 month ago 24

Disney+ has announced that production has begun on the popular Naver webtoon, Delusion, with the same working title.

Delusion will star Suzy (Doona!) as Song Jeonghwa, a heartbroken vampire in mourning for a love lost decades before, and Kim Seonho (The Tyrant) as Iho, a painter with a past who shows up and stirs something in Jeonghwa as she resigns herself to an empty life. The series is directed by Han Jaerim (The 8 Show, Emergency Declaration).

I’m excited to see Suzy in another romantic series after she captivated audiences including myself in Doona! Han Jaerim masterfully directed Emergency Declaration as an edge-of-your-seat thriller.

This series is the latest in announcements as part of an eagerly anticipated slate of upcoming Korean content to be released on Disney+ (Hulu in the United States).

A Shop for Killers is a series returning with a second season and one series out now is Nine Puzzles.

A Shop for Killers Season 1 Synopsis: Set in modern-day Korea, A Shop for Killers sees college student Jeong Jian diving for cover in her childhood home after a series of highly skilled assassins get her in their sites. Desperately fighting to survive, Jian will begin to remember invaluable lessons her uncle taught her before his apparent suicide, drawing on them to help her stay alive. Confused and cornered, Jian will have to work fast to uncover her uncle’s hidden past and figure out why so many people are desperate to gain access to the house and the extensive arsenal hidden inside.

Nine Puzzles Synopsis: High school student Yoon Ena discovers the body of her murdered uncle next to a single puzzle piece. Uncertain of how she got to the scene of the crime and unable to answer any of the police’s questions, Ena quickly becomes the police’s prime suspect. A decade later, Ena, now a criminal profiler, will once again find herself caught in the middle of a series of murders, with each victim linked to a puzzle piece like the one from the night of her uncle’s murder.

Stay tuned for more information on Delusion and more Korean content!
