It looks like Disney has been forced to do damage control again. Former Broadway actress and star of the upcoming live-action Snow White, Rachel Zegler, apologized last night for lashing out at Trump supporters earlier in the week. Bleeding Fool warned Disney years ago that this smug actress was going to be “problematic,” and it seems we’ve been right all along.

The adults left at Disney must have concluded that blithely writing off a majority of the country may not be good for the studio’s bottom line, as only a day after the 23-year-old actress posted a message on her social media aimed at the 75.6 million Americans who voted for President-elect Donald Trump this year that they may “never know peace,” Snow White star Rachel Zegler attempted to walk back her previous, politically-inspired rant, which had unironically began with “I find myself speechless.”

In the series of vitriolic and wildly narcissistic posts on her Instagram stories, Rachel Zegler raged at the election results, declaring “F*** you, Donald Trump” while also slamming Democrats for having lost in a landslide. Mostly, she overdramatically vented her anger while further smearing Trump supporters, whom she said are part of a “deep, deep sickness in this country.”
“I find myself speechless in the midst of this. Another four years of hatred, leaning us towards a world I do not want to live in,” she began, later adding, “May Trump supporters and Trump voters and Trump himself never know peace.”
With massive backlash exploding after her initial rant, one of the few sane and intelligent people left at Disney must have realized that writing off a majority of the country may not be a financially winning move. So within days of urging President-elect Donald Trump and all those who supported him to “never know peace,” Snow White star Rachel Zegler made a shallow effort to retract her earlier, politically motivated outrage. Last night, Zegler returned to her Instagram to “sincerely apologize for the election post I shared on my Instagram last week.”

“I let my emotions get the best of me,” she explained. “Hatred and anger have caused us to move further and further away from peace and understanding, and I am sorry I contributed to the negative discourse. This week has been emotional for so many of us, but I firmly believe that everyone has the right to their opinion, even when it differs from my own,” Zegler concluded. “I am committed to contributing positively toward a better tomorrow.”

Zegler has got to be a known problem for the studio by now because everything she said was quite “on-brand” for her. Still, it’s unclear if she apologized on her own initiative or because Disney legally required her to do so out of concern that her prior remarks may harm Snow White’s chances at the box office.
