Gary Keller's vintage action figures, sealed toys, unassembled puzzles, and original artwork, including a couple for Batman, are heading to auction. With bidding now open, Heritage Auctions will present Keller's The Windy City Collection on November 21-22.
Heritage Auctions' Keller collection features two of Norman Saunders' original paintings from Topps' 1966 Batman series: Batman Wins a Prize and Batman Bucks Badman. The latter artwork is so rare that PSA has only graded seven cards. The Windy City Collection includes original paintings that became G.I. Joe and Captain America model packages, Six Million Dollar and Time Tunnel coloring book covers, Garbage Pail Kids, Wacky Packages, and Caped Crusader trading cards. The collection also contains over 500 pieces of Keller's action figures and toys, including the 1966 Batman and Justice League of America Play Set.

Alongside Saunders' 1966 Batman series art, The Windy City Collection paintings feature 1964's original box artwork for the G.I Joe Action Sailor by Sam Petrucci. The auction also offers five more paintings by Don Stivers -- the original art for the G.I. Joe Adventure Team Missile Recovery packaging and the painting used to package G.I. Joe’s Recovery of the Lost Mummy Adventure, the Dangerous Mission Action Outfit artwork, the Adventure Team Chest Winch package painting, and the painting for the package containing the fan-favorite G.I. Joe Adventure Team Sea Adventurer with Kung Fu Grip.
The 60-year-old collecter Keller loves his eclectic assemblage. "My collection makes me feel good. I don’t know how else to explain it. I have pieces all over my place. Everywhere. You can stand in my living room and see 20 pieces. I become a kid when I look at them," he said. "Whenever I look at these things, they release endorphins, and I just start smiling." Keller will part with only some of his extraordinary collection, having downsized in recent years. He believes it's time for someone else to love these pieces as he has for this long.
