DC Pride is back for its fifth year in a row. This 96-page Prestige format anthology features a mix of popular and fan-favourite LGBTQIA+ heroes.

DC Comics is mixing it up this time by transforming the short stories into a single interweaving narrative called “The Heart Wants“. Characters will come together when a century-old tavern, which has been the centre of queer life in Gotham City, announces its closure. The news brings generations of patrons looking to pay their respects. But in doing so, heroes and civilians alike are whisked away to a strange alternate dimension that offers them everything they want but at a cost.

Stories interwoven into The Heart Wants include:

  • An Alan Scott (Green Lantern) framing story by Tim Sheridan, Emilio Pilliu, and Giulio Macaione
  • A Jo Mullein story by Vita Ayala, Maya Houston, and Vincent Cecil
  • A story featuring new character Ethan Rivera by Jude Ellison S. Doyle, Josh Trujillo, and A.L. Kaplan
  • A Conor Hawk story by Samm Magg and Phillip Sevy
  • A Bunker story by Josh Trujillo and Don Aguillo
  • A Harley Quinn story by Maya Houston and Max Sarin
  • A Blue Snowman story by Jude Ellison S. Doyle and Alex Moore
  • A Renee Montoya (The Question) story by Vita Ayala and Skylar Patridge
  • And a Midnighter and Apollo story by Sam Maggs and Derek Charm

Additionally, DC Pride 2025 will include the autobiographical Master Planner by Jenny Blake, artist Sara Soler, and letterer Jodie Troutman. The story is a personal tale about Blake’s experience with coming out as transgender.

DC Pride 2025 will be rounded out with a handful of letters, cosplay, and fan art to recognise the impact that comics have made on the LGBTQIA+ identity, journey, or experience.

DC Pride 2025 will be published on 4th June, 2025.
