Dark Horse Comics has announced a brand-new graphic from none other than founder Mike Richardson. Gunslingers will take readers to the Wild West starting in March 2025.
Richardson, known for acclaimed books such as 47 Ronin, Star Wars: Crimson Empire and Father's Day, will be joined by frequent collaborator Jordi Armengol (Cloaked, Navigator), who provides the art for Gunslingers, with letters by Jim Campbell (Into the Unbeing, Monsters Are My Business). The upcoming 128-page paperback graphic novel, which promises plenty of action and gunfights, is now available for pre-order for $19.99.

Gunslingers
- Written by MIKE RICHARDSON
- Art by JORDI ARMENGOL
- Letters by JIM CAMPBELL
Dark Horse's Gunslingers follows Josephine, whose 12th birthday turns to tragedy when, on a trip with her family into town for a special treat, her parents are shot and killed by a group of drunken cowboys. The dastardly group includes Andrew McGeary, the son of an influential rancher celebrating his upcoming wedding. The next day, things go from bad to worse when, while at the sheriff’s office, Andrew blames Josephine’s parents for the carnage. The girl, enraged by the lie and traumatized by the sight of her parents’ murder, grabs the sheriff’s gun and shoots Andrew dead.
Andrew’s influential father wants Josephine tried and hanged for her crime, but she is unexpectedly freed from custody by her outlaw grandfather she had never met. Ethan Foster, a gunfighter long thought dead, comes out of hiding to save the only remaining member of his family in a bid to atone for past transgressions. The veteran gunfighter and his granddaughter are relentlessly pursued by the McGearys’ hired gunmen.

Gunslingers' Creators Are Excited About the Upcoming Graphic Novel
Gunslingers writer Richardson is excited about the upcoming book and his collaboration with Armengol. "Jordi and I have a great relationship, and we are both excited to bring our first Western to life," he said. "I love the genre and hope this will appeal to those readers who love classic Westerns as much as we do," the Dark Horse boss added.
Armengol also expressed his love for Westerns. Working on the book has been a dream come true for the artist. "I always wanted to draw a western since I was a child. I think it is the dream of every comic book artist," Armengol said. "When Mike sent me the script for Gunslingers I knew it would be an instant classic. It has the spirit of the greatest westerns: from Zane Grey to Cormac McCarthy. From John Ford to Sergio Leone. You can hear Ennio Morricone's melodies when you get lost in his lines."
Dark Horse Comics' Gunslingers will arrive in comic book shops on March 18, 2025.
