Read the synopsis from the publisher here:
The perfect holiday stocking stuffer-a collection of horror tales to read curled up by the light of the Yule log “Be of Good Fear!” Long before Americans celebrated horror on Halloween, the Victorians did it gathered around a fireplace on Christmas Eve. Dread the Halls honors this macabre tradition by wishing you and yours “Happy Holidays” with stories of ghosts, ghastly abominations, and vile creatures. Covers by red-hot artists Maria The Wolf, Marguerite Sauvage, wrapping-paper variant by Jordan Hart, and a holiday homage cover by Lee Ferguson, will allow you to spread the dread this season in a horrifically festive style!
The extra-length one-shot collection of four not-so-merry tales of terror featuring mesmerizing interior art by Lee Ferguson (“Gone Fishing”), Jimmy Kucaj (“Krampus Hunters”), Walter Pax (“Northerners”), and Fabio Veras (“Dead Notes”)—perfect for ‘curdling’ up next to a burning Yule log.
Fans of Creepshow, The Deviant, Hello Darkness, and Epitaphs from the Abyss are sure to love this creepy holiday crossover book. Hart offered The Beat an exclusive preview of “Dead Notes” and a look at Veras’ art.
Hart explained:
“‘Dead Notes’, the first story in DREAD THE HALLS, revolves around a not-so-merry family of carolers,” said Jordan Hart. “I wanted to take a familiar and comforting tradition and turn it into something insidious. I knew that the success of the idea relied on a great artist. I first discovered Fábio Veras’ work in a story he created last year with Alex Galer for DC’s Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun. I reached out to him shortly after and was thrilled when he agreed to join the project. His pencils and inks elevated the story on an entirely new level.”
