Courtesy of Archie Comics, we have an exclusive first look at the second issue of Archie is Mr. Justice, the upcoming four-part series reimagining Archie Andrews as a superhero. Each issue will have a separate creative team exploring a different character’s point-of-view, and issue #2 will see writer Amanda Deibert, artist Brent Schoonover, colorist Glenn Whitmore, and letterer Jack Morelli reintroduce Veronica Lodge as the superheroine Visionary!
BRAND NEW ARCHIE PREMIUM EVENT LIMITED SERIES! Mr. Justice’s heroic deeds have started to catch attention — for better or for worse! But when he gets entangled with Veronica Lodge, the daughter of the man who’s turning their hometown upside down, he’ll have to choose between his head and his heart. Meanwhile, Veronica’s got a few tricks up her own sleeve. It looks like Mr. Justice might not be the only superhero in Riverdale…
Deibert said in a statement, “Archie Comics were my very first comic book love! Since I was a little girl, Veronica, in particular, has always had my heart. When I got the opportunity to work on the Mr. Justice run, I knew Ronnie would have to keep Archie on his toes. In Visionary, Mr. Justice meets his match… and she then must decide just how she wants to use her newfound powers.”
Archie is Mr. Justice #2 will be retail for $4.99 in comic book stores on January 15, and have a main cover by Reiko Murakami, as well as variants by Jamal Igle and Matt Talbot, which you can check out below. In the meantime, the first issue, in which Tim Seeley and Mike Norton will spotlight this world’s version of Jughead Jones, will be released next month on November 20.
