The following contains spoilers for Venom War: Zombiotes #3, on sale next week.
As the Venom War continues to rage on, one of the most outlandishly disturbing parts of the crossover event has been the introduction of so-called Zombiotes, created by the infectious agent K-44 by Alchemax, which can animate dead bodies with zombie symbiotes, but can also see the zombie symbiotes take over control of LIVING humans. The zombiotes spread through infectious bites, turning living humans into zombiotes, but also re-animating dead humans, as well. Well, what if a dead human is being brought back to life through ANOTHER mean? That is the central issue at stake in this CBR exclusive preview of next week's Venom War: Zombiotes #3, as a classic Spider-Man villain is being brought back from the dead, but not before the zombiotes get him!
Venom War: Zombiotes #3 is from writer Cavan Scott, artist Juan José Ryp, colorist Ceci de la Cruz, and letterer Travis Lanham, and picks up from where the last issue left off, where She-Hulk, Shocker, Overdrive, and a couple of innocent kids, are holed up in The Bar With No Name, along with a zombiote-controlled Hellcat, but Shocker has been playing his own game, and is turns out that he had been planning on bringing his old friend, Boomerang, back to life!

Marvel’s Venom War Gives Deadpool a Painful Reminder
Marvel's Venom War has reached the Monster Metropolis -- and Man-Thing uses it as an opportunity to show off his true power.
In the preview pages, we see Shocker reflecting on his friendship with Boomerang. Since they were both supervillains, neither of them were particularly GOOD guys, so they weren't friends in the traditional sense, but when you spend enough time working together, some sort of bond forms, and that is what happened between the two villains. So when Boomerang sacrificed his life to save Spider-Man during the Sinister War storyline, Shocker was saddened by his friend's death.
So Shocker got hold of a Resurrection Stone to bring Boomerang back, but the theft occurred right when the Zombiotes outbreak occurred, so now he is holed up in The Bar With No Name (the famous bar for super villains) and before he can use the Stone to bring Boomerang back, the Zombiote has re-animated him instead!
So now Shocker is forced to fight his own dead friend, while trying to avoid become either a Zombiote himself, or FOOD for the zombiotes! You can find out how successful he was next week in Venom War: Zombiotes #3.
