The following contains spoilers for Wolverine #2, on sale next week.
In the first issue of the brand-new Wolverine series, we saw one of Wolverine's most notable rogues, Cyber, return to torment Wolverine (which he does so by slaughtering the wolfpack that Wolverine had joined to sort of drop out of society after the Fall of Krakoa), but Cyber's return was relatively brief, as he fell victim to an elemental force that was obsessed with Cyber's Adamantium. In this CBR exclusive preview of next week's Wolverine, we see Wolverine's past come back to haunt him some more as Department H hunts him down in Wolverine #2.
Wolverine #2 is from writer Saladin Ahmed, artist Martín Cóccolo, colorist Bryan Valenza, and letterer Cory Petit, and it continues Ahmed's look at Wolverine trying to get out of society, but finding himself pulled back, both by his sense of responsibility (with great power comes great responsibility, after all), but also because of the attack by Cyber that led to Wolverine's pack being killed, which makes him think that he is responsible for their deaths. Someone ELSE who thinks Wolverine is responsible, though, is Department H, the group who turned him into Weapon X!

Wolverine #1 Review: Just When Wolverine Quit, They Pulled Him Back In
In a review of this week's Wolverine #1, we explore how well the issue deals with Wolverine being pulled back into being a superhero
In these preview pages, Wolverine is reflecting on his love of the Canadian wilderness, even as he acknowledges that he has to leave it all behind to get back to society (and being a superhero). However, he also sees that Cyber's path of destruction has brought Department H, the group that turned Wolverine into Weapon X, is now on the scene to hunt down Wolverine himself, since they incorrectly believe that he is the one responsible for Cyber's killing (since Wolverine was seen in the area, and a group of campers that Cyber attacked blamed WOLVERINE for being attacked).
One of the agents, though, argues that thet should not assume that Wolverine was responsible for the killings, and it appears as though Ahmed is setting this agent up as a new supporting character in the series. However, as the exclusive preview ends, Wolverine is still hiding from the agents, but since the cover of the issue shows Wendigo, it is likely that the Department H agents will run afoul of the magical Canadian beast (that is one of Wolverine's oldest rogues, as he was who Wolverine fought in Wolverine's first appearance in Incredible Hulk #181, 50 years ago).
We'll see how this goes down in next week's Wolverine #2.
