If you’ve ever been so desperate that you’re creating a list of the best villains in the MCU, there’s a good chance you’re going to include Kilgrave as played by former Doctor Who alum David Tennant. The mind-controlling menace was the main villain in Jessica Jones season one and helped set the series as a fan favorite among the Marvel Television offerings.
But Deadline reports that there is another character in the MCU that Tennant would liked to have portrayed, something he revealed this weekend at the MCM Comic Con in London, telling the audience. “In terms of superheroes, I don’t know, I did slightly have my eye on Reed Richards, and unfortunately, it looks like they’ve gone in a different direction, although if it has to be someone, I’m happy for it to be Pedro Pascal, frankly.”
He went on to say why he’d want to be Mr. Fantastic, “I would have quite liked to be Reed Richards, I’d quite like to be able to do all that,” he then mimics using Reed’s stretching ability and made marching sound effects. “So I’ll stick with that even though it’s gone, even though it’s gonna be a while before there’s another go at that, I think, unfortunately. I think Pedro Pascal is great. I’m very, very pleased that he exists.”
At one time, the former Doctor Who star would have been considered an inspired casting choice. But with all the political rants and spats Tennant has been engaged in over the last several years, the question remains, did we dodge a bullet, or is a moustached Pedro Pascal an even worse choice? Let us know in the comments.
