Heroic Signatures struck a deal with Titan Comics to bring Robert E. Howard's creations to Titan a few years ago, and that collaboration has led to a number of acclaimed Conan comic books, but Howard's roster of characters is very deep, and last year, Titan Comics also brought another one of Howard's iconic creations, the Puritan hero, Solomon Kane, back to the world of comics.
Star comic book creator Patrick Zircher wrote and drew the first Solomon Kane miniseries from Titan, and now Zircher is back with a new miniseries, Solomon Kane: The Lion Errant, and CBR has an exclusive preview of the first issue of this new series, set to be released next month!

In the preview pages, we see that there is a major conflict brewing in India between the Mughal Empire and the warrior queen, Rani Durgavati, and it is into that environment that Solomon Kane finds himself being delivered. We see him fighting against a group of slavers, but he is unable to take them down in the moment, and instead has to make a daring escape.
He then heads to India. The thing about Solomon Kane is that he is rarely driven by anything other than a desire to vanquish the world of evil, and that often leads him on bizarre adventures, as it is not like he is some rich person. He is a Puritan who doesn't care HOW the job gets done, so long as he gets it done. He is an unrelenting adventurer, and here, we see him very much out of his element in India.
Zircher is cleverly setting up some fascinating intrigue in these preview pages that is outside the efforts of Kane himself, but it is a case of Kane being brought into a powder keg and setting off all sorts of sparks. Of course, he first has to avoid being sent to Africa by the Indian authorities, but if you pick up a copy of Solomon Kane: The Lion Errant next month, you'll learn both how he escapes custody, but also how he is drawn into the political intrigue in this story.
