Former Disney Star Raquel Lee Files Sexual Abuse Lawsuit

Former Disney child actress Raquel Lee is accusing the entertainment giant of ignoring the sexual abuse she says she suffered early in her acting career. Lee, who appeared in 14 episodes of Nickelodeon’s The Amanda Show between 1999 and 2000, claims in a lawsuit that a Disney worker repeatedly raped and abused her during production of the 2001 Disney Channel movie The Poof Point. Lee was 14 when the film was made. According to the lawsuit, a “middle-aged” man first “groomed” her before sexually assaulting her. She says Disney failed to protect her and accuses the studio of negligence, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The filing alleges that the man assaulted Lee in his hotel room in Salt Lake City, where the movie was filmed. She also says he abused her during a flight to Los Angeles. Lee claims the worker “regularly whispered sexually explicit and harassing comments” into her ear on set and “used hugs to get close to her.” She says he also made sexually explicit jokes around underage talent.
