Per an official press release from Dynamite Entertainment, The Complete Red Sonja will consist of more than 500 pages in total, leaving room for more than just Gail Simone's all-star run on the title. Also included are an entire cover gallery featuring the works of artists such as Jenny Frison, Nicola Scott, Fiona Staples, Amanda Conner, and Stephanie Buscema, as well as the run's primary artist, Walter Geovani.
Fans of Simone's run on Red Sonja can also pick up much of the rest of her time with the Hyrkanian Heroine courtesy of a second 504-page collected edition — Swords of Sorrow: The Complete Saga. Following her run on Red Sonja, Simone continued charting the titular hero's stories in Swords of Sorrow, which saw the likes of Vampirella and Dejah Thoris team up to take on bigger threats than ever before.
The official solicitation text for Swords of Sorrow: The Complete Saga from Dynamite Entertainment reads, "Dynamite's fiercest females appear in a massive genre-spanning crossover event featuring an all-star lineup of female authors, headlined by Gail Simone... The ultimate pulp adventure features Vampirella, Dejah Thoris, Red Sonja, Purgatori, Lady Demon, Chastity, Jungle Girl, Jennifer Blood, Kato, Lady Zorro, and many, many more! Villains and heroes from a dozen worlds and eras face off against a legendary evil that threatens all their homelands."
Red Sonja Has Remained To Be A Consistent Popular Culture Icon
Samuel GoldwynCreated by author Roy Thomas and artist Barry Windsor-Smith in 1973 for Marvel Comics, Red Sonja was inspired by Robert E. Howard's Red Sonya of Rogatino. The character quickly found a foothold with fans and has become an indelible part of the very same world first explored by Conan the Barbarian. Since her debut, Red Sonja has headlined numerous titles across a variety of media, and has enjoyed a long-overdue resurgence in popularity over the past twenty years.
In August 2025, a new Red Sonja feature film starring Matilda Lutz was released, much to the delight of fans. While the latest Red Sonja adaptation was only available for a single night in theaters, it was quickly released on digital platforms just a few days later. Upon its premiere, Red Sonja was met with decidedly divisive reviews all around, with the film currently boasting a 56% critical "Fresh" rating via review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, as well as a 52% audience-generated "Popcornmeter" score, the latter of which was averaged across more than 250 verified user-submitted reviews.
The Complete Red Sonja from Dynamite Entertainment is set to arrive in comic book stores everywhere in Summer 2026.
