Gal Gadot Calls Out Henry Cavill’s DC Exit as “Unelegant”

Gal Gadot said DC Studios gave her reason to believe Wonder Woman 3 would move forward before the project was dropped, and she criticized the way Henry Cavill and director Patty Jenkins were handled during the company’s superhero reset. Gadot addressed her exit from the role during an appearance on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast while promoting her new film, The Runner. Asked whether DC Studios leaders James Gunn and Peter Safran had told her directly that her time as Wonder Woman was over, Gadot said they had suggested the opposite. “They told me the opposite,” Gadot said. “They were like, ‘We’re going to develop it with you, the third,’ la la la. But I saw the way everybody else were handled.” Warner Bros. ended plans for Wonder Woman 3 in late 2022 as Gunn and Safran began building a new DC Universe. The studio moved away from much of the previous lineup, including Cavill’s Superman, and later cast David Corenswet as the new Man of Steel in Gunn’s Superman.
