DC continues to build up its cast for the upcoming HBO series Lanterns. They have added Poorna Jagannathan (Never Have I Ever) in a heavily recurring role in the drama series based on the Green Lantern DC comic. She joins series regulars Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre and Kelly Macdonald as well as fellow recurring Garret Dillahunt.
Coming from Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King, the series is set to follows new recruit John Stewart (Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Chandler), two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, Earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland. Jagannathan plays Zoe, an effortlessly confident and poised character who is rumored to be a love interest for John. Macdonald plays Hal’s love interest, Sheriff Kerry while Dillahunt plays modern cowboy William Macon.
Jagannathan will portray the love interest for Aaron Pierre’s John Stewart. She will be filming this series while also being a regular on the upcoming Hulu series Deli Boys.
