Dolly Parton’s death on Aug. 25, 2026, set off worldwide mourning for an entertainer whose music, charity work, and business career reached across generations. It also left a large estate to manage, including song rights, licensing deals, Dollywood, and other ventures connected to her name. In the weeks since her death, a court fight in Tennessee has led to claims that the Parton family is battling over money. The available court filings point to a narrower dispute. It centers on former security chief Bryan Seaver, his security company, and the estate managers now running Parton’s business interests. Seaver, the son of Parton’s younger sister Cassie Parton, had a close relationship with his aunt. He led security through Squadron Augmented Protection Services and announced Parton’s death in a video posted to her Instagram account. But that work relationship changed after Parton died.
