Kenneth Branagh Says He Wants One More Poirot Movie

Kenneth Branagh isn’t ready to retire his version of Hercule Poirot. The actor, who has directed and starred in three films based on Agatha Christie’s famous detective, said he would like to return to the role despite plans for a younger Poirot on television. Branagh discussed the future of the character during a red-carpet interview for Mayday, according to ScreenRant. When asked if he would wear Poirot’s famous mustache again, Branagh said, “I’d always love to return to that pair of mustaches.” “We developed a few over the pictures that we did,” Branagh said. “He’s such a fascinating character, so complex, contradictory, eccentric, and kind.” Branagh also said Christie viewed Poirot as a kind and generous character who grew beyond the author’s original plans. The actor specifically mentioned Hercule Poirot’s Christmas as a possible story for another film.
