Martian Manhunter is coming to the Absolute Universe, and DC Comics has revealed a first-look preview. Absolute Martian Manhunter #1 will debut in March 2025.
Absolute Martian Hunter is one of the books in DC's second wave of Absolute Universe titles, which also includes Absolute Green Lantern and Absolute Flash, books previously announced by DC. The series will mark writer Deniz Camp's DC debut, and he will collaborate with artist Javier Rodriguez to bring the new iteration of the iconic Martian superhero to life. The Absolute Martian Manhunter preview showcases Rodriguez's stylized design for Camp's radical reinvention of the titular character. DC lightheartedly teased that fans will have to wait for the book's debut to see if the enigmatic founding member of the original Justice League will still have his famous craving for Chocos.

Absolute Martian Manhunter Writer Deniz Camp Discussed the Series
Absolute Martian Manhunter series writer Camp discussed the new take on the hero and the creative freedom he was allowed by Absolute Universe architect Scott Snyder and the editorial team. "This is probably the most radical reinvention of the absolute line so far, and I think it's a testament to the atmosphere of creative freedom that the editors and @Ssnyder1835 have fostered on this line. He was also this book's greatest champion," he wrote on X.
Camp revealed how he came on board for the series and his one condition for writing Absolute Martian Manhunter. "Basically, @Ssnyder1835 and I had a 3-hour phone call where we talked about life, our ambitions, etc," he stated. "He explained what he was doing with Absolute and basically said pick any character outside of the big 5. The whole DCU was on the table, & I picked (Martian Manhunter). But a condition of doing the book, from the start, was working with (Javier Rodriguez)."

Camp continued, "Don't get me wrong, the opportunity is amazing, the whole absolute team is so supportive, the freedom is incredible and an honor, but I think Javi is one of the great artists in comics today And have wanted to work with him for ages, and wrote him into the pitch, before anyone contacted him, or we had ever talked or met or anything."
Camp and Rodriguez's Absolute Martian Manhunter #1 will arrive in comic book shops in March 2025.
