The following contains major spoilers for Storm: Earth's Mightiest Mutant #3, on sale now from Marvel Comics.
Earth's Mightiest Mutant just reached the edge of both the Marvel and DC Comics Universes, and things will never be the same because of it.
Storm: Earth's Mightiest Mutant #3 (by Murewa Ayodele, Federica Mancin, Javier Tartaglia, and VC's Travis Lanham) picks up with the titular mutant hero, now effectively a god unto herself, as well as the strange astronaut who recently pulled her beyond the veil of the Multiverse itself. As it turns out, this enigmatic visitor is none other than Storm's own mother from another reality, and she is more than ready to introduce her daughter to what can only be described as DC's Source Wall and the Cosmic Raptor who watches over it.

The official solicit synopsis for Storm: Earth's Mightiest Mutant #3 from Marvel Comics reads, "To save STORM from THE WAR ABOVE ALL, a mysterious entity abducts ORORO out of the Multiverse completely. STORM must find her way back to EARTH-616 by any means necessary."
Introduced back in 1971 in the pages of Jack Kirby's New Gods #5, the Source Wall is one of the most iconic and immediately recognizable monuments in DC Comics history. Also known as the Final Barrier, the Source Wall was initially envisioned as a metaphysical barrier that stood at the edge of all existence.
With the release of Chris Claremont and Walt Simonson's Marvel and DC Present #1 back in 1982, however, the Source Wall was reimagined as a physical barrier with the ancient gods and cosmic entities known as the Promethean Giants sealed within it, their visages barely peaking through the stone they are encased in. The Source Wall has played a key role in numerous stories over the years, particularly the Dark Multiverse's invasion of its primary counterpart.
What Is The Cosmic Raptor?
Image via DC ComicsThe Cosmic Raptor is a far more recent addition to the DC Universe, with its first appearance taking place in 2019's Justice League #22 by James Tynion IV and Francis Manapul. Eons ago, the Cosmic Raptor was called upon by the likes of Mobius, Alpheus, and Mar Novu in the hopes that it would put a stop to Perpetua's personal endeavors. Despite being the first creator of the Multiverse and a being of nearly-unfathomable power, Perpetua was quickly defeated by the Cosmic Raptor and sealed away within the Source Wall until her release when Barbatos and the Batman Who Laughs broke through the Source Wall itself.
Although the worlds of DC Comics and Marvel Comics have been colliding regularly for the past two years with anthology titles like Deadpool/Batman and Superman/Spider-Man, none of the stories found within are considered canon in either universe. Now, with the Source Wall having been spotted beyond the bounds of the Marvel Multiverse, there is a very real chance that Storm could pave the way for the two universes to collide in full, even if that doesn't seem particularly likely.
