At New York Comic Con, Marvel released a new trailer for the upcoming supernatural Spider-Man event, "The 8 Deaths of Spider-Man," which will follow the conclusion of Zeb Wells' run on Amazing Spider-Man later this month, with Joe Kelly taking over the series for at least this story arc, and Ed McGuinness and some other artists (like Niko Henrichon) will be drawing the event.
The storyline ties in with the overarching Marvel story of 2024-25, which is the idea of Doctor Doom's new role as the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth meaning that Doom is spreading his influence all over the Marvel Universe, including this new storyline that sends Spider-Man into a fairly unfamiliar territory for the wallcrawler, into the afterlife!

The trailer reveals that Doctor Strange had cut a deal with Cyttorak, but now that Doctor Doom is the Sorcerer Supreme, while he still wants to continue with the bargain, he no longer wants to do the work himself, so he enlists the help of Spider-Man to serve as his agent. Spider-Man is given new abilities to survive death as part of the mission.
The trailer also shows various new costumes for Spider-Man that will be part of the event. It also shows Spider-Man and Black Cat kissing, which suggests that maybe they're pursuing a relationship again.
Amazing Spider-Man #61 is due out on November 13th.
