Marvel Comics has unveiled new cover artwork and an interior preview of the upcoming One World Under Doom series. The new story will launch Doctor Doom's new reign as he takes over the Marvel Universe.
The One World Under Doom event was announced last month at New York Comic Con, and Marvel teased that Ryan North (Fantastic Four) and R.B. Silva (Rise of the Powers of X) would kick off the status quo-shattering event with the One World Under Doom anchor title. The nine-issue series will tell the story of Doctor Doom changing the entire Marvel Universe, allowing readers to witness the triumphs and trials of his rule, while also showing a glimpse at the heroes who will try to stop him in his tracks.

One World Under Doom Creator Calls Doctor Doom the "Ultimate" Villain
In Marvel's press release showcasing the new artwork for the series, One World Under Doom writer Ryan North shared his thoughts on why Doctor Doom is such a compelling villain in the Marvel Universe. "Doom, to me, is the ultimate villain, because even when he loses he wins. He's not some guy you can punch a bunch until he stops doing crimes: he's a man who has thought deeply about how to achieve precisely what he wants, and how to ensure others are manipulated into supporting him."

Series artist R.B. Silva teased that this Doctor Doom story will give fans something new that they haven't seen in previous arcs featuring the legendary villain. "I’m loving that we’re bringing magic into the mix, and all the possibilities to make him as awesome as he’s always been," Silva said. "I’m trying to give fans something a little different from what we’ve seen before, and I think the magic element can really make a difference. I hope fans enjoy it as much as I do. Also, this story has the tyrannosaurus rex version of Doctor Doom in it too, so you know there's this baseline level of rad we're trying to hit."
