The following contains major spoilers for Venom War: Deadpool #2, on sale now from Marvel Comics.
Deadpool has a whole new look and a whole new set of powers, and it's all thanks to Marvel's Venom War.
Venom War: Deadpool #2 finds the eponymous Merc With a Mouth fighting tirelessly to protect the denizens of the Monster Metropolis from the swarming Zombiotes that have washed over New York City. Tragically, Deadpool can't help his oversized symbiote canine companion, Princess, from suffering some truly grievous wounds during the course of the battle. What Deadpool can do, however, is offer Princess a host with a near-unstoppable healing factor, giving rise to a Princess Deadpool who looks nothing like what the name would imply.

- Deadpool may be trapped in a city full of zombified symbiotes and symbiotized zombies, but he's always got old friends to call on when he's against a wall! He'll face the madness with monstrous allies like Frankenstein('s Monster) and Man-Thing — not to mention Silence, Princess... and another surprise guest star you will NOT see coming!
Introduced in the pages of 2022's Deadpool #1 by writer Alyssa Wong and artist Martin Coccolo, Princess was cloned from Marvel's premier serial killer symbiote Carnage. Created by the villainous Harrower, Princess was intended to be utilized in harvesting Deadpool's healing factor so that the symbiote could be utilized as a clone factory unto itself. Initially, the Harrower set out to create a clone of Cletus Kasady who she could command, though her plot was quickly dashed by Deadpool and his allies.
After escaping from the Harrower's control, Deadpool and his fellow assassin-turned-romantic interest Valentine Vuong developed a way to keep the Princess symbiote docile enough for the Merc With a Mouth to manage on his own. Over time, the Princess symbiote did indeed create the clone of Cletus Kasady that the Harrower was after, though he wasn't long for this world. Almost immediately, the Princess symbiote decided for itself that Deadpool was the better choice of companions, and as such consumed the cloned Cletus before being officially adopted as the latest member of the Deadpool Family.
