Miles Morales Heads Back Into the Spider-Verse to Save His Family in This Ultimate Incursion Preview

The following contains spoilers for Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion #1 #20, on sale next week from Marvel Comics.

As teased in Marvel's Free Comic Book Day: Amazing Spider-Man/Ultimate Universe #1, the Ultimate Universe and the Marvel Universe are about to have a crossover based on something that Jonathan Hickman set up in Ultimate Invasion, the storyline that kicked off Marvel's current Ultimate Universe. In that story, before The Maker (the evil Reed Richards from the original Ultimate Universe) headed off into the Multiverse to find a new planet that he could twist into his new home, he encountered Miles Morales, the only other surviving member of the original Ultimate Universe. He offered Miles a chance to come to this new world with him. Miles, who has been fully ingraiend in the Marvel Universe (with his friends and family been recreated in this new universe), turns him down, but the Maker left a card for Miles if he ever changed his mind. Well, in this CBR exclusive preview of Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion #1, we see what happens when that card is used...by someone ELSE in Miles' family!

Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion #1 is from co-writers Cody Ziglar and Deniz Camp (writers of Miles' current comics, and the Ultimates, respecively), artist Jonas Scharf, colorist Edgar Delgado, and letterer Cory Petit, and it shows the lengths Miles will go to save his little sister.

In the preview pages, we see Miles struggling with the Maker's offer. You see, things are a bit murky as to HOW Miles' universe was reconstituted in the Marvel Universe. It's not the sort of narrative string that you really want to pull on too much if you're a writer on Miles' series, as it's kind of existential to ask "Am I still their son if I'm from another universe where they all died?" (heck, his mother died BEFORE the original Ultimate Universe was destroyed, and she was returned to the living in this new reality).

However, his existential doubts are suddenly secondary to the fact that his baby sister, Billie, had found the card the Maker left for Miles, and now she is using it to transport to the new Ultimate Universe (not on purpose, of course), and Miles travels after her, but it looks like they are split up at the end - so who has discovered Billie? And can Miles find her? You'll have to pick up Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion #1 next week to find out!
