Since its debut on Disney+, The Mandalorian has been one of the most popular Star Wars projects in a very long time. It brought a lot of viewers back into the fold that had been disappointed by the sequel trilogy and allowed creators Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni to merge together the live-action world with some of the breakout characters from the animated series.
And after three successful seasons, the characters are heading to the big screen in The Mandalorian and Grogu movie. Insiders are now saying that the film will be the end for the series with Din Jarin and his foundling moving on to appear in other projects instead of a fourth season.
This may be a good call for the studio if they can tie up the loose ends and give a satisfying ending to the story arc then they have a set of characters that could help launch other new properties going forward, something that has been difficult for the studio over the last few years.
