NYCC ’24: Vertigo is BACK and Tiny Onion is celebrating

1 month ago 10

At the “Jim Lee and Friends” panel at New York Comic Con on Saturday, DC confirmed that its Vertigo imprint is back—really, for real!—and the first book that will be released under its banner will be a reprinting of The Nice House on the Sea from writer James Tynion IV, artist Alvaro Martínez Bueno, and colorist Jordie Bellaire.

Tiny Onion shared issue #1 Special Edition cover art with the Vertigo dressing in its newsletter during the panel and noted that fans can pre-order the reprint right now.

Tiny Onion also launched a “Return of Vertigo” convention bundle, which includes a Nice House enamel pin, a t-shirt, and a copy of the original first printing of The Nice House By the Sea #1. The first ten bundles sold came with a free Tiny Onion convention tote.

On Sunday, Tynion and Alvaro will be signing at Artist Alley Booth HB907 from 1-2 p.m. ET. Limited copies of the original first printing of The Nice House By the Sea #1 and The Nice House on the Lake #1 will be available at the signing.

Vertigo launched in 1993 and became an industry darling that’s been desperately missed since DC shuttered it in 2020. Its return will recall its roots by embracing both titles led by DCU characters and creator-owned series that take big risks. DC previously said it would bring Vertigo back at Thought Bubble 2023, and now it’s following through on that promise.
