Official Tomb Raider Deep Dive Exploration Set for Fall 2026

The official solicit text for Chronicles of the Tomb Raider from Dark Horse Comics reads, "Separate fact from fiction as you investigate the details of Lara's iconic adventures. Unravel the myths and mysteries of the dangerous artifacts that Lara seeks in even more dangerous locations. Meet the colorful cast of characters whose lives intertwine with Lara's in unexpected ways — from friends who became extended family to ambitious adversaries to the acquaintances who fall somewhere in between."

The solicit text continues, "Dark Horse Books and Crystal Dynamics are proud to present Chronicles of the Tomb Raider, which details Lara's journeys in chronological order, introduces the major players, explores the history of the character herself, and provides a glimpse into what the future holds for the world's most accomplished archeologist!"

Why Chronicles of the Tomb Raider Is Perfect for Fans of the Franchise

Dark Horse Comics has published Tomb Raider comics for more than a decade, with their first shot at the franchise being released back in 2014, nearly 10 years after Top Cow's final Tomb Raider comic was released. In that time, the fan-favorite indie publisher has charted dozens of different new adventures for Lara Croft, sending her to nearly every corner of the globe along the way.

The reveal of Chronicles of the Tomb Raider couldn't come at a better time for fans, who are eagerly awaiting two vastly different video game experiences set in the world of their favorite franchise. Later this year, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is set to be released, giving gamers another chance to revisit the 1996 original that started it all, albeit a remade version updated for modern consoles.

In 2027, the next original Tomb Raider title will arrive in the form of Tomb Raider: Catalyst. The upcoming game will find Lara in India, and will be set years after the events of 2008's Tomb Raider: Underworld, bringing fans back to one of the most beloved if oft-forgotten corners of the franchise.

Crystal Dynamics Head of Studio Scot Amos previously said of Tomb Raider: Catalyst, "For longtime fans, it's one of those moments where this is the furthest point in her career. This is really where she is right now. Everything else is her history. So, this is a great time for those longtime fans to see what's next."

Chronicles of the Tomb Raider from Dark Horse Comics goes on sale on Oct. 27.
