On 1994's Justice League America Annual #8

Why am I writing about this particular comic this particular week? Well, because I had just read it for the first time. And as to why I just read it, well, having briefly mentioned 1991's Armageddon 2001 crossover event the other day, I thought about trying to track down the many annuals from the event I had never read, and started with Justice League American Annual #5; I couldn't find it, but I stumbled across this one instead. Given that its cover featured a League of A-listers—and this was from the period when the Justice League/s generally featured an A-lister or two among a bunch of C-listers—I was curious to read it. Now, this annual is from 1994. After a few years of the annuals all being part of a big crossover event story—1991's Armageddon 2001, 1992's Eclipso: The Darkness Within, 1993's Bloodlines event—DC switched to doing annual that weren't connected by a particular storyline, but instead by a theme.
