Seth MacFarlane‘s Ted franchise is about to get a lot more colorful: Peacock has ordered an animated version of his live-action comedy series and films.
MacFarlane will reprise the voice of the foul-mouthed teddy bear Ted and will also executive produce all episodes of Ted: The Animated Series with executive producers Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh (Modern Family), who also executive produced the live-action series Ted.
Also set to reprise their voiceover roles is Mark Wahlberg as John, Amanda Seyfried as Sam, and Jessica Barth as Tami-Lynn. SNL‘s Kyle Mooney is also joining the cast to voice Apollo while Liz Richman will play Ruth.
The animated version comes after the season one success of the live-action comedy Ted. Launched in January of 2024, the series broke records as Peacock’s most-watched original title to date and was the No. 1 original streaming comedy in the U.S. for more than two consecutive months, according to Nielsen. It was recently renewed for a second season.
