Who is Zedd In Power Rangers Lore?
Image via CBRLord Zedd is one of the oldest villains in the entire Power Rangers franchise, with his debut coming in Season 2 of the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series. The partner of and occasional overlord to Rita Repulsa, Lord Zedd's reign of terror was very nearly absolute, at least up until Zordon's ultimate sacrifice purged him and Rita of their innate evil.
In the years since, Zedd has returned for various outings across subsequent Power Rangers series. The most recent of these came during Power Rangers Dino Fury, when a returned Lord Zedd stepped back into the spotlight after years away. Zedd even served as the primary antagonist of Power Rangers Cosmic Fury, which marked the final series in the classic Power Rangers saga, not to mention a genuinely shocking role in BOOM! Studios' first ongoing Power Rangers epic.
Power Rangers Unlimited was first teased earlier this year, with the then-impending debut of the Striking Tiger Unlimited Ranger (now revealed to be Trini Kwan) standing as a major draw for longtime fans. The series brings readers into a not-so-far-flung future in which Trini leads not just one team of Rangers, but a sprawling squadron comprised of what seems to be every single surviving Ranger from throughout the entire franchise's more than thirty-year history.
