REPORT: Is There an “Avengers: Doomsday” Offsite at San Diego Comic-Con 2026?

Is Marvel getting ready to make San Diego Comic-Con its Doomsday?

With construction now underway on the Gaslamp Arch, a giant “___ is Doomsday” sign is being installed across the entrance to the district. At the moment, the first few words remain unknown. Will it simply state the film’s release date? The July 25 date of the Comic-Con panel? Say “Comic-Con is Doomsday”?

For now, we just don’t know.

But it’s not the only interesting clue we’ve spotted today.

Over at 230 Fifth Avenue (the former Heavenly Couture space that’s hosted several Comic-Con activations over the years), work is well underway on what appears to be a secret offsite. Unlike most of the other builds happening around downtown, however, this one has been unusually secretive. Security has been stationed outside 24/7, and blackout coverings have been used to shield the interior whenever crews aren’t actively working, and it even has a code name “Mayo”.

Adding another wrinkle to the mystery, we’ve also noticed signs that iHeart Comix may be involved with the project. While that certainly doesn’t confirm it’s tied to Avengers: Doomsday, the timing, the secrecy, and the Gaslamp Arch installation all make for an intriguing combination.

Of course, Marvel Studios will have a presence at San Diego Comic-Con, with their Hall H panel on Saturday, July 25, surely being the first real look at the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday film. However, some sort of offsite for the film would be the biggest thing in the Gaslamp.

There are currently some fortress-like windows up, as well as the outline of a symbol and some fake “snow”.

For now, though, that’s all this is: speculation. We don’t yet know what the Gaslamp Arch will ultimately say, what is moving into 230 Fifth Avenue, or whether the two are connected at all. But with Comic-Con just around the corner, we’re keeping a very close eye on both.
