Review: Star Wars Visions: The Ninth Jedi Episode 8

Well, here we are: the end of the ride. The final episode of the show, titled The Ninth Jedi, culminates the characters’ entire journey. The main conflict is resolved, but it raises questions about others. There is a lot to be said about what works and what does not work for me in this show, but I’ll save that for last. Let’s wrap this up. Spoilers. Kara and the crew board Nawaam’s flagship via an abandoned enemy troop transport. The kyber crystal is installed, and the cannon is going through a lengthy charging and firing sequence. This gives our heroes’ fleet the impetus to focus fire on Nawaam’s ship, damaging its propulsion. Their attack causes the ship to fall planetside. You would think that would do it, but Nawaam uses the Force to slow the ship’s descent, setting it down about as gently as one can set down a giant space fortress. Astoundingly, the cannon is still in perfect working order, and Nawaam orders the firing sequence to begin once more. A droid warns him that friendlies are still in the line of fire. Nawaam writes off his allies as sacrifices he is willing to make. The Jedi are stunned and almost give up hope, but Lah Zhima rallies them, declaring that he will go af...
