Apple TV+’s Silo brought a piece of its underground world to San Diego Comic-Con this year with a compact, atmospheric experience that gave fans the chance to step inside the world of the series. Brought to life by the team at Kamp Grizzly, the experience itself is brief, lasting around three minutes from start to finish (and there are signs everywhere letting fans know this ahead of time). Because only a handful of guests can enter at a time, it has a fairly low throughput. In other words, each cycle accommodates relatively few people, which naturally limits how many attendees can experience it over the course of the day. Once inside, though, the activation does a surprisingly good job of selling the illusion. Clever mirror effects make the space feel much larger than it actually is, creating the impression that you’re stepping foot into the vast interior of the Silo itself. A performer fully committed to the role helps bring the world to life, interacting with guests as visual effects and lighting complete the atmosphere, with fun easter eggs for fans of the series.
