Ryan Murphy and Evan Peters' newest series will be inspired by a terrifying comic book story. Murphy's FX original series The Beauty will be based on the Image Comics title of the same name.
The Beauty was written by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley, and Image Comics describes the series as putting a magnifying glass on modern society's obsession with outward beauty in a horrifying way, similar to Murphy's other series like American Horror Stories. "What if there was a way to guarantee you could become more and more beautiful every day? What if it was a sexually transmitted disease? In the world of The Beauty, physical perfection is attainable. The vast majority of the population has taken advantage of it, but Detectives Foster and Vaughn will soon discover it comes at a terrible price." An 11-episode first season of Ryan Murphy's The Beauty has been ordered and is expected to begin shooting later this year.
