Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange Are Officially Reuniting, Marvel Reveals

Marvel fans won't have to wait much longer to see Doctor Strange and the Scarlet Witch have their long-awaited reunion. New details have emerged showing Wanda as the Sorcerer Supreme, and she'll be crossing paths with Strange for an unforgettable adventure.

Marvel has shared a first look at Doctor Strange #6, set to go on sale May 13. It'll see the return of not just Wanda but another character who was previously seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Doctor Strange movies, with Clea (who was played by Charlize Theron in the mid-credits scene of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) also being part of the adventure. The issue's creative team includes Derek Landy and Ivan Fiorelli, with cover art by Alex Horley. A first look can be seen below.

Marvel Teases Scarlet Witch's Reunion with Doctor Strange & Clea

The solicit for Doctor Strange #6 teases that Stephen and Angela will be hunted throughout the Marvel Universe, which leads them to make some unlikely alliances. "THREE SORCERERS SUPREME?! Strange and Angela discover that someone is killing high-ranking magical beings across the Nine Realms...and Stephen may be the next target! The sudden appearance of a mysterious portal leads Strange back to Midgard, where he's reunited with Clea and comes face-to-face with Earth's new Sorcerer Supreme, Wanda Maximoff! But is the killer targeting them too?"

Preview pages from the issue show Angela and Strange discovering a gruesome scene when visiting the Seven Sorcerers of Mundaraa. Remnants of a portal lead Strange to act quickly, and both he and the Scarlet Witch are shocked to see each other. When the issue arrives on May 13, readers will be able to learn more about Wanda's involvement — and her new role as Earth's Sorcerer Supreme.

It appears likely that the reunion between Doctor Strange and the Scarlet Witch will be short-lived. Solicits for Doctor Strange #7 are already out and appear to show Stephen and Angela whisked off on a new adventure with another fearsome and mysterious character crossing their paths: The Enchantress.

"Doctor Strange and Angela travel to Asgard to find out more about the mysterious all-powerful entity Downfall, but discover Asgard's library has been stripped bare by none other than The Enchantress, who harbors more secrets than answers…" Doctor Strange #7 will go on sale June 3.

Marvel's new Doctor Strange series kicked off last year with the character becoming the Sorcerer Supreme of Asgard and investigating a new crisis with help from Angela. It's been a wild ride so far, and it's only shaping up to get even more dangerous after Strange crosses paths with Wanda this month. The solicit for Doctor Strange #8 teases events that might feel familiar to fans of Strange and the Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"Doctor Strange has become his dark form, Lord Strange, to speak to the being Atho-Tet within the mystical God Quarry. But Lord Strange's magic comes at a cost, and he'll have to move quickly before Downfall closes in on his next target..." That issue arrives on July 1.

For now, it remains to be seen if a grander Strange/Scarlet Witch reunion might be in the works. Doctor Strange will reportedly not be a part of the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie, though he is set to appear in Avengers: Secret Wars — and some fans believe that Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch is long overdue for a comeback of her own.
