Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos One-Shot (2009)

This one-shot goes back to Fury’s WWII days.

Fury’s team drops behind enemy lines and faces down a Baron Strucker super-tank.  Fighting alongside them is a Black Widow agent.  She’s never seen again, but it’s nice to see one operating during WWII.  Not sure we’ve seen that before.

It’s macho and gritty, with gore.  The script is decent and the art is well-above average.  If you like war comics, this will probably do it for you.

Grade: C+
