Patrik Walker is an Emmy Award–winning writer who covers all things Comics & Superheroes. His work can also be found at the Dallas Cowboys, The Sporting News, and CBS Sports, among other outlets. One of the most respected names in his field, he is also a diehard enthusiast of all things comics, anime, gaming and movies — thriving in spaces where discussions involving those or similar topics reign supreme.
Stan Lee was a titan of industry, an icon of creativity and a legend by any and all measures. And though the world will forever miss his presence and smile — the real one, not the AI-generated one coming soon to a screen near you — the Marvel Comics originator was blessed to see his superhero creations conquer comics, television and cinema before his passing in November 2018 at the age of 95.
“Airwalker was a real treat to work on,” Luckert told ComicBook.com in a pre-San Diego Comic Con reveal (July 22). “Jeremy wrote a great script that has everything — big superhero action, tender personal moments, family, heart, and a bit of horror thrown in, too. I think people will really get a kick out of what we came up with.”

Stan Lee's Unreleased Airwalker Being Brought to Life In 2026
Per the official description, via ComicBook.com: “From throwing prize fights to transcending the laws of physics, Bo Chang’s life is about to change forever. For Bo Chang, life is a constant battle. Whether it’s from fighting the mobsters that have him under his thumb as a prizefighter or caring for his ailing mother and their family-owned bookshop in New York City’s Chinatown. As if these battles weren’t enough, Bo is about to find himself fighting for the future of humanity.
It continued: "When a family friend with a mysterious connection to Bo’s dead father arrives back in their lives, Bo becomes exposed to what can only be described as a ‘god particle.’ The transformation that occurs not only makes him able to walk on air but makes him a target for everyone else attempting to take control of this evolutionary discovery.”
All the world knows Lee for his slew of unforgettable Marvel characters that he either outright created or co-created — often with Jack Kirby — many of whom will again grace screens in 2026 and beyond, be it this past January with the unbridled success of Disney+'s Wonder Man, or in Spider-Man: Brand New Day (July 31) and the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday (Dec. 18), not to mention in animated series such as the explosive and viral return of X-Men '97 (July 1).
Airwalker by Marvel's Stan Lee Is 'A Blessing' to Read
“Any idea by Stan Lee is a blessing,” said Ignition Press' Editor-in-Chief Jamie S. Rich. “Airwalker shows that The Man never stopped looking forward and always sought new ways to keep the superhero genre fresh and alive. What Jeremy and Danny have done not only honors that impulse but puts them in a long tradition of fantastic Stan Lee collaborations.”
Haun couldn't agree more wholeheartedly.
“I’ve had a strange and delightful career in comics," he said. “I’ve written or drawn for just about every company out there. Airwalker was a new and wonderful challenge. How could I say no to taking a concept from Stan Lee and creating a whole world with it? Airwalker is a classic superhero story. It has all the best things about an origin — powers, fights, and an amazing costume. But, at its heart, it was the story of love for and duty to family that I just had to tell. ... I think [Luckert and I] made something special together."
What Haun said next serves as the perfect tagline for Airwalker, to be quite honest: "I think Stan would be proud.”
