Marvel Comics has announced a brand-new Star Wars series starring Supreme Leader Kylo Ren. The upcoming series, Star Wars: The Legacy of Vader, is set between the events of The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker and will debut in February 2025.
The Star Wars: The Legacy of Vader announcement arrived via StarWars.com. New York Times best-selling author Charles Soule, who oversaw Vader's rise to power in his 2017 Darth Vader run, and artist Luke Ross, known for his work on Star Wars books such as Jango Fett, War of the Bounty Hunters and Thrawn, will helm the new ongoing series. Star Wars: The Legacy of Vader will force Kylo Ren to revisit his past and confront his inner turmoil, chronicling his journey between the Star Wars movies The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. Annie Wu provides a variant cover for Star Wars: The Legacy of Vader #1 in addition to Derrick Chew's main cover.

Star Wars: The Legacy of Vader's Scribe is Excited About Series
Series writer Soule is excited about his upcoming The Legacy of Vader and believes the series combines elements of his best Star Wars work. "When fans talk to me about my Star Wars work, two of my Marvel comic runs come up more than almost anything else: my 2017 run on Darth Vader with Giuseppe Camuncoli and my 2019 series The Rise of Kylo Ren with Will Sliney," he said. "I think both of those worked so well in part because they were set in parts of the Star Wars timeline full of unanswered questions about characters the audience really loves."

Star Wars: The Legacy of Vader #1 will arrive in comic book shops on February 5, 2024.
