Marvel Comics announced its annual Women of Marvel one-shot will return this February with a surprising new character at the center of the story. Women of Marvel: She-Devils will spotlight Marvel's street-level heroines with an interconnected saga in the Marvel Universe underworld.
Shanna the She-Devil stars in the new annual story when she uncovers a dark conspiracy that spurs her to call upon her international allies. Together, they will put their fists, sai, katanas, and gauntlets together to dismantle a bomb before it can go off, with other Marvel heroines including Elektra, Echo, and Laura Kinney's Wolverine coming together to save the day. Marvel announced at New York Comic Con that Women of Marvel: She-Devils will be written by Stephanie Phillips and Alison Sampson, with other superstar creators and up-and-coming talent to be announced at a later date. The annual one-shot goes on sale Feb. 26.

The annual's reveal took place during Marvel's Women of Marvel Panel at NYCC, where She-Devils writer Stephanie Phillips was joined by Editor Sarah Brunstad to discuss Marvel's legacy and tease other women-led titles that Marvel has planned. The cover artwork for She-Devils was also unveiled, showcasing the story's full team of Marvel heroines in a piece by Nina Vakueva. The remaining creators that worked on Women of Marvel: She-Devils' interconnected saga will be revealed in the weeks ahead by Marvel.

Shanna the She-Devil Makes Unexpected Return in Marvel's New One Shot
The new Women of Marvel story features an unexpected star at the center with Shanna the She-Devil in the lead role. The character debuted in her own titular story, Shanna, The She-Devil #1, back in August 1972 and has made various appearances throughout Marvel events over the years. The character was born the only daughter of a wealthy diamond miner and grew up in the Zaire jungles. At the age of six, she witnessed her father's accidental shooting, spurring her lifelong crusade against guns and other firearms. Throughout Marvel history, Shanna O'Hara has appeared during the Secret Invasion, Marvel's Empyre event and Savage Wolverine.

Women of Marvel: She-Devils will see Shanna joined by a group of unlikely allies including the deadly mercenary Elektra and the trained assassin Laura Kinney as Wolverine. Marvel also recently announced Laura Kinney would be taking on Wolverine's mantle in a new solo series that will see her fighting mutant oppressors across the Marvel Universe. Just like Women of Marvel: She-Devils, Laura Kinney: Wolverine has also been teased to include some unexpected team-ups as its story develops. The new series debuts this December.
