The Monster Of Frankenstein – Volume 01 Issue 09

4 weeks ago 9

“The Vampire Killers!”

High up in the Carpathian Mountains, the villagers of a small outpost community have captured the Frankenstein Monster. Now, as the creature stands tied to a stake, the purifying flames set by fear and bigotry crawl closer to his necrotic skin. Blind anger begins to overwhelm him. He is not the enemy! Dracula will come for them all if they stay the ropes that bind him. Don’t they see that?!

Elsewhere in the village, a giant vampire bat appears overhead. The light of the full moon glistens over leathery wings, but with the townsfolk preoccupied by their murderous task, Dracula flies through the open bedroom windows leading to the mayor’s daughter. The lord of vampires is desperate to feed before he confronts the only other monster who can destroy him. That never ending thirst. The master of all vampires.

Vampire Lore

  • Vampires must sleep in their native soil from sunrise to sunset.

“Seeing Eye”

A vagrant’s life is not for everyone. For most, a job and a steady paycheck will suffice. Not for Joe Bronson, sadly. He’d rather steal from a blind millionaire and his seeing-eye dog. Too bad. This night may be the last for ol’ Joe and his accomplice.

Reviewer Notes

Welcome to the John Buscema school of kickass horror art and cool-anonomy. As the two iconic monsters continue their battle in the Carpathian Mountains, Buscema pencils some amazing comic book panels. If you’re a fan of this legendary 1970’s artist, don’t pass up on Marvel’s Frankenstein series. I give issue #9 four out of five stars.
