The Problem With Frank Miller’s Daredevil Comics Legacy

When it’s not the Dark Knight Returns that’s the overemphasized focus of so many puff piece news articles, it could be Miller’s work on Daredevil instead, and that’s what Inverse wrote about recently, since some recent TV shows drew from Miller’s stories, but this is yet another news item that’s decidedly not interested in maintaining consistency, let alone assuring us that Miller’s work, good enough as it was there, isn’t the beginning or end of what we could find impressive about Hornhead’s original series, in sharp contrast to what came post-1998. First: Whenever people discuss superheroes who have it rough, there are a couple of names that usually stick out. Spider-Man’s day-to-day life is notoriously bad, so the term “Parker luck” was coined because of it. Batman has had his back broken, several of his sidekicks killed, and consistently fights monstrosities and aliens all while just being a normal human being.
