Tom Holland Teases Miles Morales as the MCU’s Future

Tom Holland is not done playing Spider-Man, but his latest comments show he is already thinking about what comes next. While promoting Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Holland spoke openly about bringing Miles Morales into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and helping guide that future.

In an interview with Hobby Consolas, Holland said he wants to take on a role similar to the one Robert Downey Jr. played when he helped introduce Peter Parker. “I think at this point in time, we’re being really open-minded about what the future looks like. I know that I have aspirations to bring Miles Morales into the universe, however that works out. We’ve got a lot of work to do to bring that to life. But yeah, I feel really strongly about it. I feel incredibly grateful for the way I was introduced into this world and that I was shepherded by Robert Downey Jr. I would love to kind of return that favor to the next generation of people that get the luxury of making these movies. So that is definitely something that I’m really working towards.”

Holland stopped short of confirming anything official, but the message is clear. He wants the Spider-Man story in the MCU to grow beyond Peter Parker. That lines up with where the character stands today. Miles Morales is no longer a niche figure. He has become a major part of Marvel through comics, video games, and the popular animated films tied to the Spider-Verse.

Marvel has already hinted at Miles inside the MCU. In Spider-Man: Homecoming, Donald Glover played Aaron Davis, a character known in the comics as Miles Morales’ uncle. The film included a quick reference to a nephew named Miles, which suggests the character already exists in this world.

That small detail could pay off later. Holland’s comments suggest a path that feels natural for longtime fans. Instead of replacing Peter Parker, the story could show him stepping into a mentor role. That would mirror how Tony Stark helped shape his journey. It is a move that keeps the legacy intact while opening the door to a new generation.

For now, nothing is confirmed. Still, Holland’s push carries weight, and Marvel has shown it listens when stars take ownership of these roles. If this direction holds, the next era of Spider-Man in the MCU may already be taking shape.
